B2 Slit Lamp
The everyday slit lamp, built to a price that makes sense
The B2 exists to do everyday clinical examination well without asking a practice to pay for features it will not use. It is a horizontal-illumination lamp with three-power parallel Galilean optics, a continuously adjustable aperture and the full filter set, and it fits comfortably into Marco's exam lane packages. For a second or third lane, or a practice watching capital carefully, it is usually the right recommendation.
What it does
- Three-power parallel Galilean optics
- 0 to 14 mm continuously adjustable aperture
- Fully integrated, cable-free low-voltage electronic system
- Cobalt blue, red-free and blue LED correction filters
- Self-contained headrest and baseplate assembly
- Red LED patient fixation target on a continuously flexible shrouded cable
- Integrates with Marco exam lane packages
Is it right for your practice?
Best fit
Second and third lanes, satellite offices, new practices equipping from scratch, and anywhere the everyday exam is the job.
Why consider it
Most slit lamp use is routine anterior segment examination, and the B2 is built precisely for that: three-power parallel Galilean optics, a continuously adjustable 0-14 mm aperture, the full filter set, and the same cable-free low-voltage electronics as the Ultra M. It takes the AT-8 and AT-9 applanation tonometers and drops into Marco's exam lane packages alongside the Deluxe 2 and Bravo 2 stands.
What to compare
The Ultra M is the one to look at if you are imaging or expect to be. Its separately controlled background illumination and 5-step magnification drum are the two things the B2 does not have, and both matter once a camera is on the lamp. If this is your primary lane and you are at all likely to add anterior segment documentation in the next few years, buying the B2 now can mean buying twice.
Ask me about
Whether this is a primary or a secondary lane, and what the step up to an Ultra M costs in the same package so the decision is priced, not assumed.
