RT-700 Manual Refractor
A manual refractor built to outlast the lane it sits in
Not every practice wants to go digital, and the RT-700 is Marco's answer for the ones that do not. It is a traditional manual refractor with LED illumination that adjusts infinitely across sphere, cylinder and axis, a wing-grip design that is genuinely easier to maneuver, and a five-year limited warranty that is longer than most of its category. If you want a classic instrument built properly, this is it.
What it does
- Infinitely adjustable LED illumination for sphere, cylinder and axis
- White prism, accessory and cross-cylinder scales for readability in dim lighting
- Wing-grip design for easier maneuverability
- Fully synchronized axis and cross-cylinder system
- Soft, knurled knobs for consistent, effortless adjustment
- Five-year limited warranty
Is it right for your practice?
Best fit
Doctors who prefer manual refraction and are not looking to be talked out of it, plus second lanes and satellite offices where a digital refractor is more instrument than the room needs.
Why consider it
A manual refractor is a twenty-year purchase, and the things that matter are the ones you touch every day: how the knobs feel, whether you can read the scales with the lights down, how it moves. Marco built this one around those - infinitely adjustable LED illumination, white prism and cross-cylinder scales for readability in a dim room, a wing-grip design that is easier to maneuver, and soft knurled knobs. The five-year limited warranty is the company's own statement about how long it expects to last.
What to compare
The right comparison is against digital refraction, not against another manual head. If you refract high volume, or if your neck and shoulders have started to complain, the TRS-3100 or TRS-6100 will change your working day in a way a better manual refractor cannot, and it feeds pre-test data in without retyping. The RT-700 is the right answer when you have weighed that and still want manual - which is a legitimate position, not a compromise.

What a TRS-3100 would cost in the same lane, so the manual choice is one you made with the number in front of you and not by default.
