TS-610 Tabletop Refractor & Chart System
A full 20-foot lane simulated in two feet by two
The TS-610 puts a chart system and a TRS-6100 refractor into a single tabletop unit with a two-foot by two-foot footprint, and simulates a full 20-foot lane. If you have a small exam room, a converted office or a satellite location that could not otherwise hold a refracting lane, this is the instrument that makes it possible. You can work it from either side, and the patient can be seated or standing.
What it does
- Compact 2 ft × 2 ft footprint that simulates a 20-foot lane
- TRS-6100 refractor and chart system integrated into one unit
- Measurements from either side of the unit, patient seated or standing
- 10.4-inch color LCD touchscreen with ergonomic keyboard
- Built-in chart system covering near and distance testing
- Programd monocular fogging to reduce accommodation
- Forehead rest range of 25 plus or minus 2 mm
- FARS option adds voice-guided, patient-conducted refraction

Best fit
Small exam rooms, satellite offices, and practices adding a refracting lane in a space that was never designed to be one.
Why consider it
It puts a chart system and a TRS-6100 refractor into a two-foot by two-foot tabletop unit and simulates a full 20-foot lane. Among the instruments I carry it is the only one that turns a room too small for a lane into a lane, which is a different kind of value from a faster refraction - it is capacity that did not exist before. You can work it from either side, and the patient can be seated or standing. The FARS option adds voice-guided refraction the patient runs themselves with a joystick and the doctor checking at the end, which is how Marco positions it for practices short of doctor time rather than short of staff.
What to compare
If the room is genuinely large enough for a conventional lane, a TRS-6100 on a proper stand with a separate acuity system will give you a better working setup for similar money, and it is easier to service one piece at a time. The TS-610's case rests entirely on the square footage. Measure the room before you price the instrument. If your constraint is staffing rather than space, look at the FARS version or at Infinity software on an existing refractor instead.
